🎭 Mindful Drama Program at Maysles Documentary Center

This summer, we’re excited to take our Mindful Drama Program to the next level with performances at the Maysles Documentary Center, a professional theater space right here in the neighborhood!

Our Mindful Drama Program blends mindfulness practices with creative storytelling to help campers build confidence, express themselves, and connect with others. Through guided reflection and imaginative play, campers will write and perform their own original skits, exploring themes of empathy, self-awareness, and community.

Whether your child loves being in the spotlight or prefers working behind the scenes, Mindful Drama offers a role for everyone. From acting and scriptwriting to set design and stage management, campers will experience theater as a tool for self-expression and personal growth.

✨ What to Expect:

✔ Original skits written by the campers, inspired by mindfulness exercises and reflections.

✔ A focus on collaboration, creativity, and emotional growth.

✔ Opportunities for on-stage performances and behind-the-scenes roles like set design, direction, and production.

✔ Performances at Maysles Documentary Center for family and friends to celebrate the kids’ creativity.

✔ Mindful movement and reflection exercises to support emotional awareness and confidence.

🎭 Plus! We’re expanding our partnership with The New Victory Theater. Along with attending their world-class performances, New Victory teaching artists will now come to work directly with our campers in our theater space, providing professional-level theater training that complements our Mindful Drama approach.

🌟 Junior Mentor Program (For 11-13 Year Olds!)

For our oldest campers, we’re excited to introduce the Junior Mentor Program (JMP)—a chance for 11-13-year-olds to step into leadership roles, assist younger campers, and develop valuable skills, while still having tons of summer fun!

✨ Junior Mentors Will:

✔ Assist younger campers with activities & games

✔ Help lead theater warm-ups & creative sessions

✔ Take on leadership roles both on stage and behind the scenes

✔ Develop teamwork & leadership skills through special workshops

✔ Still participate in all the fun that makes camp unforgettable!

💰 Junior Mentors Can Earn While They Lead!

Tuition is $550 per week, but JMPs earn back $75 per week for their leadership role.

Families can choose to:

✅ Receive the earned amount as a direct payment

✅ Apply it toward future camp tuition

✅ Deposit it into a savings or college fund

📢 Example Earnings:

3 weeks → Earn $225 back!
